Takeoff - Multiple Published 3D Views

Takeoff - Multiple Published 3D Views

The request is to have the option to choose from any of all 3D views that were published in Revit.  There is a common workflow where we have multiple Takeoff packages for different systems that correspond to different 3D views in Revit.  Not being able to use the same Revit model for these different packages is limiting.  The workaround we have to do is export an IFC file of each 3D view we want to pair with a package, but this is very time consuming.

Hi @Tim-Peruchini ,

Thanks for the suggestion. We agree this would be helpful functionality. We just haven't been able to allocate the resources to do it yet.

As an aside, another workaround to get what you want. Still extra work, but maybe better results when performing takeoff.

- For each view in Revit:

- Create a view template

- Apply the view template to the <default 3D> view

- Save As with a unique name

- Upload the individual Revit files to Takeoff

- Then rather than working with IFC files in Takeoff, you can stay with native RVT file

I hope that makes sense.

Putting my vote in for this one too, which needs to be moved to a much higher priority.

If Revit models cannot be easily and accurately published, then there is nothing to Takeoff.
