Markups to be added as a reference to Issues or Vice-versa

While We create an issue on a drawing we have the options no options to add a markup as a reference. This is much needed as issue pin does not indicate an area. So we had to create a cloud markup but no way we can link that mark-up to the issue.

Yes, It is a must needed feature @ananta.shet
As every time we need to add the markup as an indicator of area where the issue belongs and manually add the text of the issue number (e.g. #123).
If we get this feature of linking the issue to markup or markup to issue it will so much helpful and time saver.

Hi @ananta.shet,
We are currently working to tie issues to Mark-ups and will be coming in the future.

Would it be possible to refence a markup to an ACC Issue?

I don't know if you're asking the same thing as I've already asked, but I do agree that I would love having the possibilty to have those markup "attached" to a specific issues when needed. Sometimes, I have to present my screen and scroll around all of those issues. I have to prepare myself before to do it in front of client. That said, I have to say that for presentation purpose, I use trimble connect. I use it because I can quickly create some kinda 3D "powerpoint". I just have to set all the view i want to talk about and put all the markup I each view i creaated. Those markup are attached to the view I created, that means, when I clic on the next presentation, even if the next one is around the same area of my previous one, all markup are gone, and the new one have its own markup. Please Autodesk, help us be prepare when we have a meeting.

This would be helpful to do and make the drawing a little less cluttered with all the issue bubbles.  Another option is to select the issue button and then just move it to the mark up, then reference the drawing in the issue.

Every university/healthcare owner, DOT and design customer needs to be able to attach markups or a group of markups to issues. Its a significant blocker as these customers can't standardize on design review workflows effectively without this feature.

Currently, there's no way to track "redlines" which is a significant workflow that happens until CDs or shop drawings are officially published.

We should be able to add an Issue Reference to Markups. (See attached image)

In March 2026 Enhancement to Issues, you can add 2D markups directly to issues now : draw on sheets or 2D view, save a markup and update the issue thumbnail, with option to edit them after creation (text, scale, etc.). This gives every issue clear visual context so reviewers and stakeholders understand problems at a glance — dramatically speeding triage and resolution.

Linking a markup to an Issue only works in one direction: the Issue has to be created first, and a markup can then be added within it. There is no way to create a markup first and link it to an existing Issue afterward.

This is limiting in workflows where markups are made during a review pass before it's clear which markups should become formal issues, or when multiple markups need to be consolidated into an existing issue after the fact.

Requested improvement: allow markups to be created independently and linked to an existing Issue afterward, rather than only supporting the Issue-first workflow.
