Optimizing Dashboards on Forma

Optimizing Dashboards on Forma

The Dashboards on Forma are limited to the project data. It would be a lot better to give them access to the whole Hub data.

In my Use Case it is as following:
I've designed a dashboard showing every Issue on the Hub.
Getting it into the Start Display in Autodesk Build, it is limited to the project data you're currently in.

It would be nice, having all Hub data to show in the dashboard

Also: A User I want to share the Dashboard with, should'nt go the long way to the Insight Builder to see the Hub Data. In the Insight Builder, it is possible, but that's not very user friendly.

Have you considered partner cards?
If you develop your hub-level dashboard externally, you should be able to embed that view back into the "Start" page via a Partner card.
Give that a go

Hey @buildintel,

thanks for the answer. That seems like a clever workaround. Did you implement that already? How did you develop it externally?

Quite extensively yes.
Reporting can be quite complicated and needs are different company to company, and then team to team within same company. It is impossible for a platform native development to cater for a global market needs. Kudos to Autodesk for having a large availability of public APIs for bespoke development. That is how partner cards are put to use.

Seems like a lot of work, isn't it? 🤔

I've found this as an instruction for a Partner Card: How to create a Partner Card for use in BIM 360/ACC Insight

How much time do you consider realistically for this task? Autodesk says, they need two weeks approving the Partner Card.

Thanks a lot in advance. This advice is golden. Kudos to you!

The 2 weeks you're seeing is likely the administrative 'listing' approval for the card in the public gallery. Building the actual 'brain' behind that card, the engine that pulls Hub-level data, handles security, and visualizes the logic, is a much bigger beast.

Starting from scratch is a months-long project, not a configuration task. It really comes down to a business decision: does your organization want to build and maintain an internal integrations department, or do you want to work with a partner who already has the infrastructure ready to go?

Best of luck with the build. It’s a game-changer once it’s running

Kind regards
BI
