Moving Mark-Ups between different Versions

Moving Mark-Ups between different Versions

It would be good if, when the layout of a plan changes, the markings are also moved accordingly. For example, if the floor plan and the section are swapped on a plan, the previous markings should also be moved. This prevents any confusion when plans are moved. This applies in particular to PDF and DWG files, as well as plans in Revit files that are stored in Docs and compared with each other through version control.

I don’t think this can really work in practice. Markups sit on fixed coordinates on the sheet, not on the actual drawing objects, so the system can’t tell when a plan and section have swapped places.

Big layout changes on a sheet usually shouldn’t happen without a reason, and if they do, users can move their markups afterward.

What might actually help is an easy way to view a snapshot of how the sheet looked when the markup was first created, so the context is never lost.
