Target
Forma Issues functionality and PDF / 3D Viewer functionality
Purpose
Ensure that issue pins and photo camera icons remain correctly associated with their intended PDF pages, even after pages are inserted into the document.
Current Challenge
Currently, when pages are inserted into a PDF file that already contains issue pins or photo camera icons, the pins and camera icons remain associated with their original page numbers.
As a result, issue pins and camera icons may appear on incorrect pages instead of the pages they were originally linked to, causing the relationship between issues, photos, and drawing content to be lost.
Since drawing revisions frequently involve inserting additional pages or making other page-level changes, users must manually verify and correct the locations of issue pins and photo links each time. This creates a significant operational burden.
Request
When pages are inserted into a PDF, issue pins and photo camera icons should automatically shift according to the number of pages added so that they remain displayed on their originally intended pages.
In addition, it would be very helpful if Forma could also support maintaining these associations when pages are deleted, reordered, or otherwise modified, ensuring that issue and photo references remain intact throughout the document lifecycle.
Expected Benefits
- Reduced maintenance effort for PDF-based workflows
- Improved reliability of issue management
- Improved accuracy of photo management
This enhancement would significantly improve the usability of issue and photo management throughout projects where drawing revisions occur frequently.
