Within custom fields for issues, we would like the type of user selection to be added. Similar mechanic to Assigned To or Watcher. This field selection could also have filters based on Company or Role. Having a field like this would allow dynamic selection of individual based on members of the project. Currently, we are using a dropdown, but an admin has to go in and make edits anytime there is a change to members of a project.
Use Case: As an owner, we have a project management team managing our contractors. We have issues assigned to the roles and/or companies for the contractors, but we have a member of the project team overseeing that issue. We could add as a watcher, but there could be multiple watchers on an issue, so not a great way to delineate this. We set up a custom dropdown to be able to sort/filter by this individual, but if the owner project management team changes, an admin has to adjust the dropdown. If we set it to a specific role, the field options would dynamically change as we add/remove people from a project.
