Handover Module: Improve Bulk Export Capabilities for Large Projects and Product Limitations

Handover Module: Improve Bulk Export Capabilities for Large Projects and Product Limitations

On large projects, users can encounter product limitations due to the volume of data managed within the Handover module. To improve scalability and usability, it would be beneficial to add a date range filter for exports, allowing teams to export only the records required for a specific period instead of the entire dataset.

Bulk export functionality should also better support large datasets and attachments. Attachments are a critical part of project handover, particularly for RFIs and Submittals. Currently, when exporting RFIs or Submittals individually, the associated attachments are included. However, this functionality appears to be missing or limited when exporting data in bulk, creating additional manual effort and increasing the risk of incomplete handover packages.

We have seen similar challenges in other workflows. For example, a team member had to export more than 2,000 RFIs individually to ensure all required information and attachments were captured. Likewise, large Handover exports can result in multi-GB ZIP files that are difficult to manage and access efficiently.

Consider enhancements such as:

  • Date range filtering for exports
  • Inclusion of all associated attachments in bulk exports
  • Improved handling of large ZIP packages, including segmented downloads or smaller export packages

These improvements would help teams work more effectively within product limitations, reduce manual effort, and provide a more practical handover experience for large and complex projects.

@Lokesh.Harshe ,
I completely agree. This is a significant challenge for large projects. The lack of date range filters, limited attachment support in bulk exports, and difficulties managing large export packages create substantial manual effort and increase the risk of incomplete handover records.

Organizations rely on ACC as their system of record, so bulk exports should include all associated attachments and provide more flexible options for handling large datasets. These improvements would greatly enhance scalability, efficiency, and the overall handover experience.

Definitely indispensable for our projects
