In Forma Takeoff, it would be beneficial if Takeoff Types could also be saved in the ACC Library (with their Line Items, formulas and Classifications intact). The aim would be to modify the database arrangement in such a way that Takeoff Types could be easily added to a takeoff by selecting from a drop-down menu (similar to the way that a Line Item is added to an estimate in Forma Estimate). Currently, Takeoff Types cannot be saved in the ACC Library. Therefore, to establish a database of sorts for Takeoff Types, we instead created a new template project and created every Takeoff Type that our company could possibly use within the subject template project. That way, it just becomes a matter of importing the desired Takeoff Type into new takeoffs. The number of clicks required to execute an import is greater than it would be if Takeoff Types could be selected from a drop-down menu (and maybe not necessarily tied to a Takeoff Package).
It would also be helpful if the mathematical formulas for the Line Items could be edited in the ACC Library. Currently, the only way to import a Line Item with a formula attached to it is to import it as part of a Takeoff Type from another project (or project template).
Furthermore, in Forma Estimate, it would be beneficial if Takeoff Types, in general, could be added directly to an estimate (single Line Items can only be added currently).
In both platforms, I think that most users are wanting to use a Takeoff Type as an assembly that contains multiple Line Items (similar to ProEst). Currently, unless you're importing from another project/template, you have to create each Takeoff Type from scratch for every new takeoff and add each Line Item, formula and Classification manually to each Takeoff Type. This can be a tedious process. In Forma Estimate, you can't even utilize such groupings (i.e. assemblies).
