Hi Autodesk, I’d like to share some feedback regarding the RFI module in ACC. Although it currently provides two predefined workflows, these workflows are fixed and not customizable, which is quite disappointing for many users.
The issue is that the RFI process in real projects is often more complex than just “Main Contractor → Consultant → Response.” In many cases, it involves multiple reviewers, additional steps, or even the need to change the reviewer midway due to project dynamics. Unfortunately, these kinds of adjustments aren’t currently supported in ACC RFIs.
While RFIs are meant to be straightforward, the reality is that coordination and review can vary greatly depending on the project type, discipline, and team structure. The lack of flexibility makes it difficult for teams to adapt the system to their actual workflow; which often leads users to avoid the RFI tool entirely and revert to manual methods.
It would be a huge improvement if the RFI module could support customizable workflows, similar to the Submittals module. This would allow teams to define their own steps, assign responsible parties or roles, and adjust the flow as needed.
It would be great if the team could consider this enhancement, as the current limitation somewhat defeats the purpose of a digital workflow platform. I believe this improvement would add real value and encourage wider adoption of RFIs within ACC. Thank you!
