Creating automatic QR code for the Assets in Build
Hi,
It will be good to have a QR code automatically created once the Asset is created on Build Assets. It should be printable so that the QR code can be pasted on the Assets at site. The site engineers can scan the QR code which can take them to the Assets on ACC and see all the attached references to the Assets.
@pamela_fisher We keep a complete record of all the assets and the rooms they are supposed to be installed in an excel sheet along with Name, Category and Description. The Spread sheet is uploaded to File folder in Build. Then there is Asset handover document that contains Name, Category and Description. Before going or when onsite the resources can check/compare both sheets for what they have received or what and where they need to install. it makes life a little easy but does not completely resolve the issue. @maliBNX8S@pamela_fisher finally Autodesk has included this feature on Build assets and we can export the QR code in a pdf format. Please check on Build assets
It will take the standard 3x4 (12 code) grid and split it out into individual labels for printing on a label printer. We have a thermal ink printer that prints on polyester labels (the same ones used on RTU's and exterior equipment for durability) and it works great.
It comes with a 2 week free trial and then just $0.10 per sheet input into the application. you can pre-purchase sheets in bulk also for a discount.
