Comment Field needs to be editable

Currently this comment field is not editable and i was told by support team that "In regards to the "Comment Field", our product team has confirmed that once a comment is added, unfortunately, it cannot be edited. This is expected behaviour by design, to make sure it always maintain correct audit trail."  However, the problem is people makes mistake and we push the comment information into our AP system.  When the wrong information is pushed over, it creates an error on the payment system.  Please make this field editable.

The intention of the field is to explain to the user who submitted why an item was not approved.

Please can you clarify how you are using that field and why it causes an integration error?

We use this field for the Tax team to indicate whether a line item is subject to used tax. An error occurs when an item is mistakenly marked as used tax when it should not be, which then triggers an error when the data is sent to Workday. For this reason, we need the comment field to be editable so we can go back and remove or correct the comment as needed
