Description:
There is currently no mechanism in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) to enable user-level handover of data, responsibilities, and historical records when a user leaves an organization or is reassigned to another project.
Problem Statement:
When a user is removed or deactivated:
- Their history remains tied to their account
- The user is marked as removed/inactive
- However, their ownership and activity history cannot be transferred to another user
- This creates challenges in continuity, accountability, and project tracking.
Impacted Areas / Modules:
- Docs (document reviews, approvals, workflows)
- Build (issues, checklists, RFIs, assets)
- Any other ACC modules involving:
- Reviews
- Issue tracking
- Configurations
- Assignments and ownership
Key Challenges:
- Loss of continuity in workflows
- Difficulty in tracking historical decisions and responsibilities
- Manual workaround required (reassigning items individually, if possible)
- Reduced traceability for audits and project documentation
Expected Enhancement:
Introduce a User Handover / Transfer Ownership feature that allows:
- Transfer of all historical data and ownership from one user to another
- Preservation of:
- Reviews and approvals
- Issue ownership and history
- Configurations and responsibilities
Suggested Capabilities:
- Admin-level control to initiate user handover
- Option to:
- Fully transfer ownership
- Or partially transfer selected responsibilities
- Maintain audit trail (original user vs. new owner)
- Bulk transfer across modules (Docs, Build, etc.)
