Allow Renaming or Disabling the Locked "Coordination" Issue Category and Types in Autodesk Forma Templates

Allow Renaming or Disabling the Locked "Coordination" Issue Category and Types in Autodesk Forma Templates

I would like to submit a feature request regarding the"Coordination" Issue Category in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

According to Autodesk Support, the Coordination category and its predefined issue types are locked by design because they are used by the core Model Coordination workflow. As a result, they cannot be renamed, deleted, or deactivated, even when the Model Coordination module is not being used. [autodesk.com]

For organizations that have their own issue management standards and naming conventions, this limitation creates confusion for project teams. In many cases, the Coordination category remains visible despite not being relevant to the project workflow, which can lead to inconsistent issue classification and user adoption challenges.

Requested Improvements:

  1. Allow administrators to rename the "Coordination" category and its predefined issue types to align with company standards.
  2. If renaming is not possible, allow the category and its issue types to be deactivated or hidden when Model Coordination is not enabled or not used by the project.
  3. Alternatively, provide a project/template-level setting that allows administrators to control the visibility of Autodesk-provided default categories.

Business Benefits:

  • Improved alignment with company QA/QC and issue management processes.
  • Reduced confusion for end users.
  • Cleaner issue configuration in templates.
  • Greater flexibility for organizations that do not use Model Coordination workflows.

I believe this enhancement would provide administrators with more control over their ACC templates while maintaining compatibility with projects that actively use Model Coordination.

Thank you for considering this request. I would appreciate feedback from Autodesk and other users who face the same limitation.
