BIM 360, ACC (Forma), or whatever it's called these days, really needs a "Viewer" role for users without a license. I can understand requiring a license for users that are working on cloud models together, uploading and managing documents within ACC and so forth, but the platform would really benefit from allowing users without a license to view elements such as the 3D model. There is no manipulation or modeling occurring within ACC, it's purely viewing the current and active 3D model.
As it stands, Autodesk has an online 3D viewer that people can use free of charge, but in order for us to use that we would need to jump through a bunch of hoops by downloading the current model and linked models and uploading to the browser viewer to view the model. It would seemingly make more sense just to be able to use ACC as the free viewer without going through a bunch of hoops for the same result.
ACC will never be a viable option for our company for construction management without the ability to add users without a license in a "Viewer" role for stakeholders such as clients or field Superintendent's that just need to be able to view the model in 3D space. Other competitors such as Procore offer the ability to add clients without charging them or requiring them to purchase their own license and will continue to be one of the superior construction management platforms because of it.
