Hello there, I had 3 bugs this morning on Revit Forma and Rhino 8, latest updates as of this date.
Please go through each one and correct it:
1 - The forma plug in is not compatible with Rhino Inside Revit.
2-Log in problem notification while everything seems to be fine, strange
3- The forma toolbar is not even registered, it's not appearing anymore and I can't seem to be able to retrieve it.
Thank you for your time

This is not getting any traction, what is the email address for reporting bugs about the Rhino plug in ?
It's obviously not working on Rhino 8.
Sorry, we discussed these internally but no one came back here to post the responses.
1. You need to use Rhino 7 when working with Revit 2024 or earlier, and Rhino 8 when working with Revit 2025. When you have both Rhino 7 and 8 installed, you will see little prompt when you start Revit that will let you choose the version.
2. The first time you try to load a proposal, a browser window will open for you to log in. You should wait for the login process to complete and not dismiss the window prematurely.
3. If the Forma tab is not showing, write Forma
in the Rhino console.
It's not, you can't rely on the user to make those modifications every time.
Can't you make it compatible with both Rhino 7 / 8 ?
Pretty please !

What modifications are you referring to? Is this bit not working for you?

Revit 2024 and earlier and Rhino 7 use Microsoft .Net 4.8. Revit 2025 uses Microsoft .Net 8 and Rhino 8 uses Microsoft .Net 7. Versions 7 and 8 are generally compatible with each other, but 4.8 is not compatible with 7 and 8.
The Forma Plug-in for Rhino is compatible with both Rhino 7 and Rhino 8 because it installs separate versions for each.
When using Revit and Rhino together, you have to match the versions.

The forma Plugin needs an update and the incompatibility problems with Rhino 8 need to be addressed in the next release. Here they are, still present
1 - The issue on Rhino 8 is still present - when typing Forma, no browser connection, no pop up window
2 - The forma plugin is still sending an error when loading Rhino with Revit 2024 - 2023
It is the only plugin I have that throws an error message, all the others are fine and Rhino 8 runs fine on Revit 2024/2023
3 - It seems the Forma plugin has some problems with Rhino 8 and that's fine, just acknowledge the problem and let's try to fix it.
Thank you
Hi Thomas,
Sorry to hear you are having these difficulties. Not entirely sure what's going on, but here are some things you could try to fix it.
1) If the Forma panel is not visible for you, try turning it off and back on from the Window > Containers > Forma toggle:
If that doesn't help, you might have to use the "Reset" command in Rhino and select the "Restore default Window Layout" option. You can then try to open the Forma panel with the "Forma" command or with the Window > Containers > Forma toggle.
This should work the same way in Revit 2025 and Rhino.Inside.Revit 8, but for some reason, the latest release of Rhino.Inside.Revit doesn't let you dock any of the panels and forces you to minimize and maximize the Rhino sub-window before the panels update \o/
2) If you really need to use Forma from within Rhino.Inside.Revit, for Revit 2024, you will have to first install Rhino 7. You will then see this little pop-up that will allow you to load Rhino 7:
This is necessary because Rhino 8 had a big change in how it loads plugins. Therefore Forma can only work with Rhino 8 in Net.Core 7 (and above) mode, and Revit 2024 and below are not compatible with that mode. You can bypass this limitation by using Rhino 7 instead.
3) Both Rhino and Forma are evolving and changing rapidly. Forma gets a new feature almost every week and Rhino gets a new sub version release every month. It is likely there will be some issues from time to time, but we are doing our best to fix those 🙂
I know you guys are and I am here to help, I am just reporting a bug (I am an old-timer of UX debugging)
I understand that you don't have time to do backward compatibility right now, I also do that a lot but it still is reported as a bug for most users, that's a bad look.
Maybe a warning during installation ?
We hear you. I don't think it would make sense to add it to the installer, because people tend to just press "I Agree" and ignore everything in there or get their software installed automatically by IT. Maybe a better idea would be to update the known issues under the Rhino interoperability documentation. I'll make sure we note the Rhino Inside Revit limitations in there.
