About item nums make the model started lagging

I created a model that generated 10,000 items and put them on the rack , and the model started lagging. If I need to put more, how should I solve this problem? Upgrading the computer's specs won't fix it. Have another ways? Thanks

Virtualization of Rack content might be a solution. There is an option in Storage Options in Rack properties.

In general I would only create items, when I need them visually being moved.

You can replace items in a rack for example by slot label data and show instead masses of simplified boxes of openGL vertices.
