No SDI output on Flame 2012

Hi.

We are still using our old faithful Flame 2012. Old faithful and still capable, I hope....

We have a display issue where we not getting any feed through to the Broadcast monitor.
When I check SDI input on the monitor, it does show a signal, but only 720p/50 and nothing else.
We replaced the AJA card with a spare that we have, but no change.
The SDI is connected correctly, 3rd or last SDI on the GPU.

Also not able to enable the broadcast setting within Flame settings. Slider flashes, then off again.

The BM worked for a bit last night, but then the main display starts glitching.

Is this a setting within Flame or perhaps the GPU failing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello DeanJ5X82!

It will be very hard for us to help since we do not have access to a matching configuration anymore.  Make sure the init.cfg is correctly defined to use either AJA or BMD card for both video and audio devices AND make sure the timings are also set to AJA or BMD. When all these are correctly configured, restart Flame and you should be able to select the preview timing and options.

Intermittent issues are often related to HW issues and if you had main display flashing, the Graphics card might be the issue.

Good luck

Thanks very much for the quick reply.
Yes, all settings are correct in the init.cfg as this was my first option.

But as you say, I'm fearing the worst that the GPU might be on it's way out as the display is very temperamental and when it does work, the main display glitches and we need to restart the machine.

My pleasure!

I guess your only option would be to source a new GPU of the same model, which might by itself be a good challenge.  Ebay might be your friend BUT acquiring a used GPU has also its load of challenge.

I am going to try and change the SDI output to the AJA from the nvidia to see if that will maybe take a load off the nvidia.

Do you think this might be a viable option?

So a quick update to this issue...

We sourced another nVidia 6000 GPU, identical to the one in the machine.

Now we have other issues.

Glitching has stopped bar a tiny 1cm bit at the very top of the main screen.
Problem now is the output to the Broadcast monitor!
All the images are pink and green as below...?

I'm on my last string with this old machine, but we need to get it running so we can complete this project they are almost done with.

No config settings have changed (unless the operator changed something within Flame itself?)

Everything is set to freesync as per the settings within the init.cfg file.

Could this still be a GPU issue or the AJA card?
Do I set fire to this machine?

Any help and advice would be appreciated. 🙏
