After importing an XML file exported from Premiere Pro, which contains MOVs that were exported from After Effects (motion graphics) and importing it into flame, the MOV does not have a matte layer/ alpha channel. I have tried bringing the MOV file into Premiere Pro and the alpha channel is there, I was also sure to export the file from after effects with an alpha channel. How do I get the alpha channel from this MOV file in flame? Is it possible? If not, what format do I have to export it from AE with in order to detect an alpha channel in flame?

Hi ashleyvalerie,
It is possible to import a quicktime with an alpha channel as a clip or as part of an XML conform.
Before importing the media, please ensure that you set your clip import options under the GENERAL TAB.
The tab might normally say INCLUDE ALPHA CLIP or IGNORE ALPHA CHANNEL. Set this to MULTI-CHANNEL CLIP.
All media with alpha or other channels should display a MULTI tag on the bottom right of the clip.
When you import or conform this media, you will get one clip but the alpha should be there.
In the timeline, you just need to enable the COMP timelineFX to key through the alpha. You are in Batch or BatchFX, the alpha will be visible on the source clip from the blue channel.
