Can't load a saved node....

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have been sent a regrain node by another artist to use on a shot I'm doing that he degrained before sending to me.

I can see the node in my downloads folder when using the Finder in OSX.

I can't see it when I go to the same place in Flame.

I was expecting to just load the node into my batch, but my the Flame doesn't seem able to "see" the files.

What am I doing wrong?  I'm sure I ve done this loads of times before.

I'm on Flame 2022 OSX, he's on 2021 (something) on Linux.

Help.

Hello @Anonymous

The first thing to check is if you are loading in the right place. For example, if the other user saved a Batch setup you need to load a Batch Setup, not a Degrain one. The inverse is also true. If he saved a Degrain setup then the setup will only appear in the Load Setup browser of the Degrain node itself, not in the Batch Load Setup Browser.

Please accept this as a solution if you feel your question has been answered.

I'm pretty sure he saved it as a node... but I can double check.  Either way I still can't see it.  If I try and load it as a batch set up or a node set up...

Here are the files as sent to me in OSX Finder...

Here's the same location in the node load...

Screenshot 2021-06-07 at 13.48.27.png

and from Batch load....

In both cases Flame can see the precomp folder that's in the same location, but not the node files that are also there.

Does it appear if you enable "Show All" in the browser's Gear menu?

Hello Again,

I'm now trying to go the other way.

Saved a batch setup from my OSX FLame 2022, and trying to open it in a Linux Flame 2021 (something)

This is the error he dets on the linux...

Screenshot 2021-06-15 at 15.03.41.png

This is what I sent from the OSX...

Screenshot 2021-06-15 at 15.07.24.png

Is there anything obvious we should be trying first?

Hello @Anonymous,

It is not possible to load a setup from a newer version (2022) into an older version (2021).

Thanks Fred.

I thought it might be okay because I'm only using boring old nodes in my set up.
