Current toolpath computation aborted

Current toolpath computation aborted

So this has been bothering me ever since I "upgraded" to FC 2018.

So I will be working on a program, and I run a 3D simulation then, without hitting eject, open a feature to make a change. I click apply or ok, and get a popup that says "Current toolpath computation aborted". I cant continue until I hit eject on the simulation toolbar. Is there some way to turn this new "feature" off?

In all previous versions of FC it would automatically "eject" for me any time I made a change to a feature. It seems silly to make me stop everything, click ok, then click eject, then click ok again when it seems it could be handled the way it always was before, if simulation is active when someone tries to make a change to a feature, stop the simulation automatically......

If it matters, I don't use the ribbon, because it requires several times the number of mouse clicks to use vs the "old" way that always worked just fine.... Also still waiting for the ability to use print preview when not using the ribbon.....

Hi there,

The reason the pop-up "Current toolpath computation aborted" occurs is because editing any feature setting would then alter the effect of the simulation; therefore the pop-up is merely informing the user why the change cannot be made immediately to the current simulation, as the posting of NC code has changed.

As far as I'm aware this was also the case on FeatureCAM 2017, however the point you raise is a valid one in terms of efficiency. Whilst there is no immediate solution, I can look into creating a request to include this in future versions of FeatureCAM if you would like? Which would make the process quicker in the future.

Please click "Accept as Solution", and I will begin the process of creating a request.
