22 second delay when Tools tab is accessed

Anybody having delay issues when accessing the Tools tab?

This happens when a file is opened, or when selecting an operation when the Tools tab is active or becomes active.

If I right click on an operation in the Operation List and select 'Tools' then there is a 22 second delay when opening the operation, if I right click in the Operation List and select 'Feeds and Speeds' it opens without delay, then if I select the 'Tools' tab there is a delay.

Different tool cribs or changing the crib yields the same delay, happens on mill or turn parts.

any help is appreciated, thanks!

Jeff

Hi @jeff.brower

Are you using an MS Access or SQL database? or are you using a local database?

I've heard this happening with a shared database.

Thanks,

Local database, installed the 2021 version of FC a month or so back, but this just started a few days ago...

Thanks!

Hi @jeff.brower

I would try resetting your INI file.  I am wondering if this is causing the issue.

Here is a good article on how this is done....Resetting the FeatureCAM ini file

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you Christopher, but this did not solve the issue. I've also re-initialized the database and no luck there either.

Next step is to see if our IT dept can re-install the software.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Hi @jeff.brower

What happens if you change the material type?  Try using one of the default FeatureCAM material.....like Aluminum.

I've seen something like this in the past, but I cannot remember what the trigger was.

No luck there either, the delay seems to be when the software needs to access the tools database...

Hey @jeff.brower

Good to know.

I think you should add a solution to yourself since you were able to find the issue.  This also helps others that may find themselves in the same situation.

Cheers,
