Ability to import/link Properties via Excel template in the Asset builder

Hello everybody,

it would be nice if there was a functionality to import/link properties via Excel template in the asset builder menu.

Why?

Our goal is to hand out excel templates to suppliers, in which they fill in all the required properties (e.g. Current, Mass, ...). Those are then returned together with the CAD Model. We then built the Asset to use it in our factory layouts.

How could it work in theory?

The functionality should go through the excel file collecting all the property names and belonging property values. If the property name doesn't exist as a standard (e.g. part number) or as a custom property already it should be automatically created and the values should be assigned to the corresponding property names.

It would also be nice if there could be an update functionality. So changes in the linked Excel file are updated in the corresponding asset.

I know that this might also be possible via iLogic or the FDU API. I already tried a lot with no avail (since i am not a programmer). The iLogic rules i find online are not aiming at the same goal so i always try to adjust them and run into a lot of problems. In my opinion there should be a more user friendly way to achieve this.

Kind Regards,

Florian Scheidler
