2016 Fabrication Deployments Failing

2016 Fabrication Deployments Failing

Has anyone tried to create a 2016 Fabrication deployment? I have attemped to create a deployment for the object enabler, Estmep, and Camduct and they all fail with the same message, "Copy functions cannot be used". At first I thought it was a folder permissions issue but the 2016 Navisworks freedom/Manage deployments were created sucessfully. Attached is a screen shot of the log file and failed setup screen. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have had the same problem, any suggestions from Autodesk?

None yet. I heard Autodesk is aware and able to recreate the problem.

I posted a workaround for this to the Fabrication CADmep group on linkedIn a few weeks ago.

Sorry I didn't come here.

And here is what I posted:

Autodesk Fabrication Deployment Failure & Workaround

There is a problem with the Fabrication CADmep & ESTmep installers that don't allow a deployment to be successfully created (unconfirmed if CAMduct is affected).
The problem is the deployment creation is trying to copy folders that don't exist (or in some cases I think have already been copied.)
Autodesk is aware of the problem and hopefully will be correcting it soon, but for those that want to create a deployment now, a workaround follows:

1. If you haven't already, download the installer. If it auto-runs, cancel it.
2. Open the downloaded folder, find the file named "Setup.ini" and make a backup, then open the "Setup.ini" file in Notepad (not the backup).
3. Search for the line that starts with "EXTRA_FILES", and replace the line with:

EXTRA_FILES=CADmep;*.exe:*.pit:*.xml:*.mc3:*.mlm:3rdParty:CER:Content:EULA:NLSDL:Setup:SetupRes:Third-Party Component Open Source EULAs

4. Save and close.
5. Run the installer and create your deployment.

It's now been confirmed it happens to CAMduct as well.
