Package Generator failure on building LED

Failure of the package generator on trying to build a Chip LED 3D model.

Throws up 2 error screens, then completes the LED with with a wonky top case.

Attached are the settings I used, and 2 errors that it throws.

Hi @gwagnerJXG2J,

I hope you're doing well. So looking at the numbers you inputted they don't seem reasonable to me. Could you double check the datasheet values again. I get a feeling the errors occur because the LED is not creatable. If you can share the datasheet that would be even better.

Hello @gwagnerJXG2J,

I hope you're doing well. I see what you are running into. I factored in the tolerance and it generates the 3D model but the model top is weird that's probably where the errors are coming from. I'll report this as a defect. In the meantime use the footprint tab to enter in the custom footprint sizes indicated in the datasheet.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

@gwagnerJXG2J , thanks for reporting this issue to us!

I could recreate it with the same settings. And I have a workaround to generate it correcting with the same settings:

  • Generate the LED with the default settings
  • Double click the node in the timeline to edit the package, and input the expected settings to update the package
