Hide 3D package for test pads and antennas

Longtime Eagle user and loving the Fusion 360 models. I have completed my first design and there are some components, test pads and a bluetooth antenna trace, that show up as red blocks in the Fusion 360 board file. Is there a way to hide the 3D package for these components so that they show the pads/traces rather than a block?

Hi @geighmy,

I hope you're doing well. In Fusion360 you'll see on the left side that every body has a light bulb. You can switch the visibility of the objects by clicking on the light bulbs.

I have quite a few components that have this issue also.

Unfortunately when you update from eagle, it overwrites and thus you have to untick the components in fusion again and again.

Also they show as red in the publish dialog from eagle, so it is difficult to know if you are actually missing a model, or if it is a 'known' no-model component.

We have this for things like silk mask only items like our company logo, and other such items.

My work around is to edit the default 3d object in the library editor and set the box size to 0x0x0.

This 'fixes' the fusion issue (although the 3d component is still there when it probably shouldn't be) but the component still shows as model missing in the eagle dialog.

This need a better solution - a simple option to specify that there is no model required is all that is needed.

Thank you for joining the Autodesk EAGLE forum. Edit the 3D Package and set the X, Y and Z size to 0.

I already worked out that as a work-around for the issue; you would see that if you actually read my post.

It 'solves' the issue at the Fusion360 end, however, the publish dialog in Eagle still shows it as a red cross indicating that it doesn't have a model associated.

Whilst this is technically true, it is not useful when you are checking for components which should have a model but don't.

Hence the request to be able to flag a component at 'no model required' so that is shows with a green tick.
