Fusion 360 replacing Eagle in future

Hi,

I heard some part of podcast with Matt Berggren where he talked about his work on Fusion 360 (electronic part of Fusion). Eagle updates seems to be stopped and there are only necessary ones. So I would like to ask if there are any steps toward switching from Eagle to Fusion. I understand, that it would be reasonable step from Autodesk.

Best regards, Vojta

I decided to quit my eagle license before X-mas to change my email and bank account. My mistake, but during this time it was not possible to change this kind of personal data. I haven't got any news letter or  any other information about upcoming license change beginning 2020. I want to have my old conditions back! I'm also willing to pay for the old Eagle-Standard licence Autodesk 3 years ahead, but I don't want to pay for fusion (the price is three times higher compared to eagle!). I miss the old conditions and 15€/Month excl. VAT for a standard licence was perfect for me. I understand the business direction of Autodesk to integrate Eagle in Fusion, but currently it is again a kind of intermediate step and I don't want to be a beta tester anymore! This release and license change was for me quite too early. I don't want to be forced to go to a other supplier, because I started with Eagle 30 years ago.

Hello @mugenCLLYW,

I hope you're doing well. Remember that EAGLE is still here, you are not forced to make any switch right now. If you would have kept your Standard going you would have been grandfathered in and you would have been able to keep the conditions you had. Now it's not possible to get those conditions because you have lost that grandfather status.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

I still haven't received a response about my issue, including emailing sales reps and putting in a question through customer support.  I have a legacy F360 License that I paid a year for.  I have an Eagle Premium that I pay the monthly for.  Now that I get F360 as a part of my Eagle, I have paid for the license twice.  What is the resolution to this?  Or do I suck it up and take the loss?

Hi @craigOrionTech,

Definitely don't want you to take the loss. The departments are working through these scenarios and you are not alone. I'll ping one of the sales persons I know and see if they can look into this for you.

Well, it looks like my License is messed up. I went to push a design from Eagle to Fusion, and it told me I was offline. I'm going to say that right next to that message there SHOULD be a button to log in, but OK. I finally found the button on the eagle control panel and went to log in. It said that I was off line, but signed in. Clicking on signing out was going to cause my license to revert to free (I thought this wasn't a thing anymore as I have a paid license for Fusion. Now when I go to log back in I put my name and password in, and this is what I get for a return dialog box.

Here's what my account looks like- It's a real mess. Multiple entries for Fusion and Eagle!

I also got a bill for Eagle Premium!

Well, I just got a bill for Eagle, even though I have a years paid subscription to Fusion 360.

that would seem to indicate you didn’t go in and cancel your Eagle recurring subscription?

Their system works on the basis of “subscriptions” separate from “entitlements.”

Before, I had an eagle standard subscription, which comes with an eagle standard entitlement. I also had a Fusion 360 startup subscription, which came with a F360 entitlement.

post-change, i have 2 entitlements for Fusion and one for Eagle.

I am having the same issue with the 2 subscriptions.  Is this going to get fixed?

my point is, I’m pretty certain you’re responsible for canceling the redundant subscription.

Wow, what a huge bummer!

I really hope EAGLE will stay available as stand alone package indefinitely. Fusion runs so bad since it's written in a totally weird web-y cross platform style.

EAGLE is an almost amazing package and runs very well on its own. Please don't screw it up, Autodesk!

I really don't want to switch to the strange KiCAD or even to windows, just for PCB design...
