Bug when updating local library footprint

Hello,

I noticed a bug when updating local library.

When I try to add ">VALUE" or ">NAME" parameter to the footprint of the local library that I made and when I save it and update it, the footprint in the board design doesn't updated (name and value parameter doesn't show).

If I try to add the same component to the schematic again (from the updated library), it shows correctly but it is annoying to move and replace already placed components.

By the way, it works when adding another pad. I noticed the problemd only when adding> NAME and> VALUE parameter.

Br,

Luka

This is a known quirk of the way attribute positioning is implemented. The parts you added before the library had the standard attributes defined are marked as not having those attributes (equivalent of having hidden or deleted them in the board or schematic) and updating the library doesn't override that.

There's no need to "replace" anything, just do a "reposition attributes" on the affected parts.

this "quirk" is a bug (or is it an incorrectly documented feature? )

I have to individually reposition about 100 components so the PWB matches the libraries.

and that's just the resistors.

that's backward

please fix it

Hi @wwfeldman,

Just do a group reposition attributes and you'll reset the position of all 100 components. There's no reason to do that one by one.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
