Scaling a dynamic Block in height

Hi, is it possible to scale a block in z-direction, dynamically?

I like to cout my blocks inside the drawing so I made diverent blocks that have a specific height.

Sometimes I need a custom length for this part. Now I thought it would be handsome to strech the extruded part and then use the scale factor to show the final length of the part.

Is this possible?

Thanks Daniel

There is not a specific setting to scale one direction only.  There is a workaround, though, by adding chained point/stretches inline with the parameter controlling the scale.  Then scale just the points.

Always post the block when inquiring.

Hi Libbya,

thanks for the info, but I am not sure if I understand what you mean.

I attached the drawing today to explain in a better way what I am looking for.

Maybe you can help again.

Thanks Daniel

Do you need to use 3D Solids?  Dynamic Blocks are not meant to be used with 3D Objects and have very limited functionality in that regard.  You cannot stretch a 3D Solid.  If that were a simple rectangle you could easily stretch it to change its height.

Hi Libbya,

actually no, it hasn't to be a solid.

However I try to scale a rectangle in the third dimension it won't work. I can do it in X and Y direction but not in Z.

Is that what you meat by "streching the height" - the Z direction?

Thanks Daniel
