Keep Att Horizontal while rotating block

Hi All,

I've been reading a lot of similar post, and have applied/tested my block and still failing to get what I need.

I don't know if there is sequence I'm not getting, or a setting I've got off/on that shouldn't be, but I'm hoping someone with more experience than I will be able to look at my block and tell me where I'm screwing up.

What I have is a P&ID pump symbol with several Visible States and many Attributes.

In this block, there are two "bubbles" that hold information; a "P" bubble and a "VFD" bubble.

The "P" bubble has an extendable leader line that rotates around the "P" bubble and attaches it to the pump.

The "VFD" bubble must always touch the "P" bubble and must be able to rotate around the "P" bubble.

Everything with the "P" bubble works great.

When I added the "VFD" bubble, I can get it (and it's ATT) to rotate around the "P" bubble, BUT, I cannot get the ATTs to remain horizontal.

The "Lock Position" is on.

The "move" action has 'chain' on.

Right now, I only have one "move" parameter for both bubbles, but have tried giving the "VFD" bubble it's own "move" parameter (didn't help).

Also, right now, the Att's in the "VFD" bubble are included in the RotateVFD action, however, when I tired the RotateVFD without the Atts and with only the "move" parameter, the Att did not move at all, only the bubble outline rotated.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Barbara

Dear Barbara,

I dont have complete solution to your problem, sorry, but I would go in this direction:

- add another rotation parameter X around center of VFD circle and add a rotate action with 2 objects: VFD and Name2 attributes

- modify "rotate VDF" action and add new rotation parameter X to it (right click on action, action selection set, modify selection set)

- make newly made Angle3 parameter equal to negative of Angle2 - unfortunately I am stuck here, I cant find my way with parameters manager to finish this.

Hope this helps at least a bit.

Regards

BJ
