How to Purge unused visibility parameter objects in dynamic block

Hi

Iam creating 3d solid dynamic blocks with visibility parameter for my interior furniture of different widths. My problem is dwg file space is getting too large. How to purge remaining visibility objects in dynamic block to reduce file size.I know one solution i.e., exploding the blocks but it takes so much time to explode each dynamic block. Is their any alternative solution. While rendering that large 3d solid Dynamic blocks file my system is hanging.

I'm not sure if I understand what you want to do. But - are you sure that the Visibility Parameters cause the "hanging of your computer" while rendering?

BTW: I'm afraid if you explode your blocks the file size will increase (instead of decrease) (?)

If the "furniture" is just changing width why don't you use a lookup parameter with a stretch distance. See the basic drawing below as I only have LT.

Not many 3D solids can be stretched though - if they are made with the AutoCAD 3D Tools, a stretch action on a distance parameter would just move the object instead of stretching it.

I think what he means is, that he got a "furniture block" with a Visibility option to change e.g. a couch into a table - and if it contains several different furniture, it may take up a lot of space because AutoCAD loads any references saved in a block.

Hi Hwalker,

Thanks For your reply and giving me an idea regarding lookup in dynamic block parameters.I worked on both lookup and visibility Parameters.Enclosed Both files for your reference and now another problem in dynamic block i.e., while working on 3d isometric blocks.I always took a  reference point to align 3d objects for that i placed 2d block under the 3d objects to aligning the objects easily, for reference please look in to visibility layout. In visibility States we can align 3d objects easily by rotating & moving with out using any block parameter expect visibility state. Same way i need in lookup dynamic blocks also for that we have to work on ucs, but in autocad ucs will not work in dynamic block. We cannot apply block parameters to 3d objects in front and side views except top view.Is their any way to apply block parameters to 3d object in front view.

Hi,

Were you ever able to solve this?  I would also love to be able to purge unused elements from a dynamic block.  Our file sizes are getting out of control.

thanks,

john
