How to Make a Double Lookup

Double lookups are so darn useful and slightly tricky to make so I figured I'd make a screencast in a dedicated thread that shows exactly how to make one and how to select each of the tables.

Ok, not sure what's going wrong on my end....but when I copy the lookup parameter on the block authoring palette, and try to paste it....the PASTE is greyed out. Using AutoCAD 2023.Copy works fineCopy works fine  Paste is always greyed outPaste is always greyed out

@h_s_walker,

Yes. I've tried it there, and everywhere else on the palette.

This also happens when I try on the Parameter Sets tab, when I try copying and pasting the Lookup Set parameter. Paste is always greyed out.

Thought it might be a system setting like the BACTIONBARMODE, but I can't seem to find anything that might do this.

@tstorzuk Try importing the attached file when in the block editor (remove the .txt extension) See the image below for where you need to import it to

@h_s_walker

Thanks, that helps get Lookup Set2 and Lookup Set3 into a new tab on my palette, a duplicate of the Parameter Sets tab.

It still doesn't change my inability to Paste parameters or parameter sets. But at least with that, I can start learning how to use the multiple lookups.

@tstorzuk Yeah I don't understand why you can't paste. It is a weird one

I think it has a lot to do with the way that Autodesk supplies their product. Online only, with absolutely no way to check if the download is correct.

Most companies that provide a download also provide a CHECKSUM of some sort, to allow the end user to confirm that the download matches 100%.

Autodesk refuses to do that.

With a file size that keeps growing every release, there's a way higher possibility that something can and will go wrong with the download. That's why 98% of their resolutions to problems with their software is "uninstall, re-download, reinstall".

When you Paste, you are modifying your CUIx. You may not have enabled the ability to save the workspace. Type WSSETTINGS and check the Automatically Save Workspace Changes option.
