Help for column dynamic block

I am trying to create a dynamic block of column so that I can have only one column block and it can be stretched as per dimensions. But I can't lock the insertion point at the insertion of the cross lines of the square column.

Is it an elevation of a column? If so have the block in the drawing below on me.

The dots appear at the centre of each face and an extra set of dots appears at the centre of all faces added together.

The floor level can be sized as well in the properties.
