Have subcategories within a lookup table

Hey guys,

So I've seen it before where you can click your lookup table, opening the drop-down menu, it will list off a few things (my example would be G.W.B, Plywood and Fiberboard) and then you can scroll across to select the size you wanted for that item.

IE

Gypsum

 --> 1/2"

 --> 5/8"

 --> 1"

Plywood

 --> 1/4

 --> 3/8"

 --> 1/2"

Fibreboard

 --> 3/8"

 --> 3/4"

 --> 1"

How does one make this happen? I can only seen to get the lookup table to do the first part of selection g.w.b, ply or fibreboard.

My intent would be to have something like this but with a lookup table

You can do that with a block properties table, but not with lookups.  You will need a separate lookup/grip for each sub-table.

Ah OK. I'm not very familiar for block properties tables, so I was aware that's how that can be done. I'll do some Youtubing and learn!

See attached.

In block editor, create a "fake" attribute and set it as invisible

Create a Block Properties Table

Double click on the B.P.T. icon and hit the Add Properties button on the top right (+fx)

Select the attribute and the linear dimension for the thickness

Enter text in the attribute for each condition, with the corresponding thickness in the adjacent column

The last video I posted used an attribute for the sub-category. I realized this is an Acad LT limitation. In full Autocad, use the button in the attached pic to create the sub-categories

Thank you for your time, but I have since learnt how to use the Block Properties Table and fixed my issue. Thanks though.
