DYNAMIC BLOCK WITH FOUR LOOK-UPS AS VISIBILITY PARAMETERS

I am trying to create an Emergency Exit Sign Dynamic Block that has four individual visibility options.

1. controls the faces of the emergency exit sign.

2. controls the directional arrows on those faces, there can be anywhere from 0-4 arrows total.

3. controls whether the sign is wall mounted or ceiling mounted

4. controls whether the emergency lights, or the bug eye lights, on the sides of the sign are present or not.

i have taken several stabs at this and keep coming up short. If anyone has some suggestions on how to go about this please let me know. exit sign dynamic blcok in block editor.PNGexit sign dynamic block model space view.PNG

Can you post what you have so far? So we can see what isn't working or so we don't tell you to try something you already did.  Also there is a dedicated dynamic block forum. The best help for these kinds of things can be found there.  <<Dynamic block forum>>

Zachary,

I think he wants you to actually upload the file so he can test it out himself.

The problem was your double lookup. In one of the lookups you had the lookups as numbers and the other you had words. They need to be the same (either numbers or words). I changed the words to numbers and it works now.

See the attached.

I've noticed a slight mistake with your block as well.

Your "Double Arrows Both Sides" lookup only shows arrows on one side.

Well it only does that if you have the faces set to single side. If you have it set to double side the arrows will show up on both sides. I never set a visibility state that had a single face with double arrows on both sides of the sign. I definitely think that I need to rework some of the terminology so its less confusing though.

I also see now that the SINGLE ARROW BOTH SIDES appears on both sides even if single side is selected. Thank you for pointing that out I'll have to see what i can do to clean that up.
