DYNAMIC BLOCK WITH ATTRIBUTE THAT DISAPPEARS WHEN THE STATE OF THE BLOCK CHANGES

Hi All,

I have created a Dynamic Block for Labeling various equipment within a diagram ( Attached Below ).

It is a simple circle with an arrow that flips around it from top to bottom or left to right depending on the location of the object I wish to label on a floor plan.  I added 2 attributes to the block allowing you to change the ID # and the Referenced page from the elevations pages.  The block is working great unless I have to change the state back to the originally inserted state.

See (images):

inserted block.png originally inserted block with attribute filled out from prompt

Flipped States with the drop down.png illustration of correct functionality when I use the drop down handle bar to change from Left/Right to Up/Down state. (also note the small arrow to flip between up and down works perfectly fine in both states )

when reverted back to original insertion.png when reverted back to originally inserted state it goes blank. ( However if I once again flip it to up/down it is working as intended ).

I have included the block as I am sure there is something that I am missing on my visibility layer or a parameter that is missing that I just cant seem to find.

Thanks for your time and help

Regards,

Stephen

Why you need 2 attributes for each visibility? May be you enough 2 attributes and use in both visibilities?

If you need separate attribute for each visibility then each attribute in block must have unique Tag (name)

Thank you for taking the time to help.  I did as you said and created a separate tag for each state.  I do have to type in the ID name for the block two times upon creation ( a bit annoying ) but it will serve the purpose that I need it for.  Never the less it is much faster than rotating the arrow and turning on snap off to get it to point in the correct direction each time and then back on to continue working.  I appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Stephen

I think it would be better if you did not use separate attributes in the two states.  You want them to be the same value, so just make a single set of attributes visible in BOTH states.  Better yet, don't even use visibility states or the flip.  Just use a rotate with a 90° increment.  See screencast.

Thanks so much for the video.  I agree with you.  I did not even think to use rotate when I made it.  Another great solution!
