Dynamic Block with Array of rivet holes problem.

Good day all, 

I have a dynamic block that I use to stretch to the right size for fabrication of panels.  I am trying to get the block to automatically add holes as the panel is stretched.  The holes need to be spaced equally at maximum 16" o.c.  I have set up all my formulas, etcv and in Block editor it looks good.  The array is showing properly, etc.

The problem is that when I stretch the panel, the holes and formulas do not automatically update.  In fact when I stretch the panel, the Constraint dimension that I use for my calculations doe snot stretch with the panel.  It moves.  Therfore my formuals are not updating and the array is not working as required.

I have tried numerous attempts to get this to stretch with the panel to no avail.  Maybe there is another way to do this.  Ideally when i stretch the panel, the holes should update as per my formulas.

Any help is appreciated.

Try making it a 'path' array using a construction line as the path.  Stretch the construction line.

Hi.  Thanks for the advise.  I have done all types of arrays to do the holes.  The problem is that I need the dclinear constraint to do the calculations.  If the d1 dimensions does not change, the formulas do not updated and recalculate.  I can get the holes at exactly 16" o.c. but I need them equally spaced.

Attached an example (only the lower array) how you may achieve your needs. 

If you need to calculate the values for the array, you must use parametric constraints. Do not mix with dynamic parameters and actions. 

(I ignored the slots because I don't know where you want to have place these).

Wow!  Thank you so much.  I am going to review and study this.  I was definitely underthinking this process.  I need to add these rivet holes to all sides but hopefully I can learn from this.  Thank you so much.
