Dynamic Block - Variable stretch/array or Look up

I have a dynamic block which will already have visiblity states/a block table in it, so I can change the pitch of the triangles in. Within these, I have objects which I want to array in the background, ideally Id like to be able to choose whether there is one, two, or three that appear, before I can then stretch them at the same distances each. I was hoping to find some kind of array parameter where I could choose how many objects I have within the array, and what distance they have.
I have included a wipeout shape behind the triangle so that the top of these objects disappear as they are stretched across.
My question is, is there a way to do as I had hoped, regarding the ability to use stretch and array together in that way? Or do I go down the lookup route? With the lookup route I've never used these before, and as I can't have multiple visiblitity arrows within the block, it seems this may be an option, so that I can choose a number of items to display before stretching them across.
I know I'm not best describing my situation, as it's hard to put across, but hopefully someone understands my aim and can help in some way.
