Block Properties Table won't move with other actions

I've added a Block Properties Table to a dynamic block. I want the grip for this to move with other actions e.g. move, scale etc but it won't. It seems to have a fixed position within the block.

Is that by design or have I missed something?

Nope; its normal behaviour.

Should it be that way? A few have asked.

None have found the answer.

This thread offers a workaround:

Ok, so when a Base Point is added to the block, the Block Properties Table will react to actions on the base point. Handy to know but it messes with the block placement. I think I'll just have to live with the BPT stuck in one place.

Thanks for the pointer, though.

Yea that would go back to the beginning of creating the DynBlk so all the Parameters were where you needed them.

Does INSBASE help after adding the Base point Parameter?

I don't think so. I need the base point in the block to stay still. The block is a drawing frame and is inserted at 0,0 in paper space. The dynamic properties of the block allow it to be resized to A4, A3 etc, but the lower left corner is always at 0,0.

Most uses for the Block Properties Table can be done using lookups or double lookups.  I couldn't say if that would be the case in your application because you haven't bothered to post the block in question.

The question about Block Properties has been answered.

Nothing more to add.

I didn't realize you were only interested in knowing whether or not the BP grip could be moved.  Why did the thread go beyond the second post?  It seemed that you wanted the functionality of the block property along with the grip moving which can usually be accomplished using lookups instead of block properties.  I'll certainly try to avoid the impulse to ever help you in the future.

I like that tact of DblLookups but have not tried to implement myself.

In the case of the attched DynBlk is the DblLookup a possibility?

No need to solve. Just interested.

Yes, you could use lookups for that but instead of 1 grip with the menu>sub-menu>sub-menu setup of the block properties, you would use a lookup grip for each property.  Lookups also cannot directly change an attribute value, so the closest you could come to that would be a field referencing the lookup for the 'JOIST' attribute value.  A regen would be required to update the field after changing the lookup value.
