Hi,

Can I create a block in a manner that when I switch from 1:100 to 1:50

1. Dimension text converts to 1:50

2. Hatch converts to 1:80 without leaving  free space around dimension text?

Or any appropriate solution. Hatch becomes too dense in 1:50

Hi,

>> 1. Dimension text converts to 1:50 <<

Yes... you can by making Annonative behavior active from block definition (see below image) then add Annonative scale from Properties (Ctrl+1).

>> 2. Hatch converts to 1:80 without leaving  free space around dimension text? <<

any Annonative scale added to your hatch will be ready to use when you change the Annonative scale.and regarding the space around dimension text yes you can cancel this space depending on your hatch way.draw a rectangle (Rec) over your shape and when hatching go for Add:Select Objects to select the new boundary.so by this way we hatch the rectangle without dimension text.

I didn't notice that (see below attached image)

Note: Attached CAD file with new block.

Good Luck...

Hi,

Since i'm poor in English I may not have asked question clearly.

1. When I mean dense Hatch it is noticeably dense when working on large project.

2. How do I change annotation scale so that hatch scale remains same or 1:80 scale or any desired, without leaving gap around dimension text when it gets smaller.

Hi,

>> it is noticeably dense when working on large project. <<

so you have to change it to proper hatch scale and as you need.

>> without leaving gap around dimension text <<

as i mentioned to you in my previous post.this gab around the text because you make the hatch through the dimension text.get back to the previous post and read it carefully. 😉

Hi @Sujan.Maharjan,

If I understand correctly, your hatch inside your block looks fine at 1:80 and 1:100 with annotative scaling but doesn't look good (too dense) at 1:50.

If this is the case, I suggest that you can create three versions of your hatch and text (non-annotative).Each one can have its own visibility state in a dynamic block.

Hi @john.vellek

I use this block in 1:50 scale for blow up drawing and same to be used in larger drawing and hatches and text are to be enlarged or vice versa. Using different blocks or Visibility state is not suitable for me i guess.

I have another question for annotation object as well. In this attached block I am having problem with the text position while switching from 1:100 and 1:50. If I use linear stretch(highlighted one) and switch to 1:50 and vice versa. Text position of different annotation scale is not synchronized. Hope you understand my problem and give me appropriate solution.

Hi @Sujan.Maharjan,

Perhaps try this. I created a Field to display the length. Perhaps this will behave better than the dimension text.  I have attached a sample for you to examine.

I am also going to move this thread to the dynamic block forum so you can get more suggestions.

Thanks @john.vellek. I'm fine with dimension text (for real time update). Wish i could use different annotation scale for different objects
