Used to create them:

Procedural generation algorithms, Lightwaves node editor, Photoshop, Quixel studio and hand painting.

Using photos of real wood as reference and trying to recreate the look in textures. Still have a long way to go before I will be happy with them but its a good start.

The different color variations are in reference to real stains that you can buy from popular manufactures.

So I'm still working on procedurally generated exotic maple patterns. It is proving to be quite a challenge but I am making some good progress.

Working on something like this right now:

and here is the base pattern I generated:

Keep in mind this is just the base pattern it will take many more layers to make the real texture.

This is the second one that will need to be blended with the first:

Looks like spalted maple.  Wow, that would have to be a pain to recreate!

I'm getting closer, real life is making progress a little slower then I would like.

Quilted Maple is starting to come together too, should have something to show for that soon.

I'm hoping to make 3-5 variations of each type so this should be a nice set of Maple textures.

For the most part the expressions and visual programing is setup just needs some more tweaking.
