Fusion 360 + High DPI display

Hi,

Fusion 360 + a high DPI display does not appear to work well. I'm attaching screenshots to illustrate the issue (cut off text, tiny text, etc). Are there plans to rectify this? Windows 8.1 is the OS. I'm happy to take SS/provide data as possible to help. Resolution is 2560x1440 on this display.

Here is what the above looks like with screen to give some idea of scale:

@Anonymous I understand what you are saying, but there is a huge difference between scaling a high DPI display to 200% vs. using a display at 1/2 the resolution.  The scaled items items are rendered at the high DPI density, and therefore are better looking.

You are correct.  However, I do not find 4K on a 15" monitor really that better than a retina display for example.  At some point, all these manufactures and developers have to stop trying to get people to buy in to unnecessary upgrades and to fix what's already there.  The scaling issue with software has always been a issue on Windows.  Rather than fix this, there is always more of the greater and better.

I wonder when the 8K displays will be out for the laptops...and how many people will buy them.

In anycase, Fusion needs larger fonts in their application.

"Fusion needs larger fonts in their application".  Sort of, but it is more accurate to say that Fusion should adjust it's graphical elements dynamically based on whatever graphics scaling setting the user chooses.

I'm not trying to be argumentative.  I am just trying to make my point clear.  There is a means to dealing with this already, it just has to be acknowledged to be a problem that needs fixing.

I'm also running into this issue.

Definitely an issue. I am using a Surface Pro 4 and everything seemed to be working great until this last update and my resolution in Fusion 360 is garbage (everything pixelated). I also would prefer not to continually adjust my display settings to accomadate a higher resolution for one specific app when I am typically running multiple at a time.

I posted a workaround to the resolution problem in this thread.

This will keep you from having to adjust your display settings just to use Fusion.

I'm using an iMac 27" system.

It runs Fusion 360 really well!

I am running a 55" 4k display.

is there a way to make UI elements a little larger.

its really not too bad but some of the text is a wee straining to read and some of the icons a wee small. again not bad but "straining" a little and I only sit 2.5feet from the panel.

the icons at the top for example and the getting started window are perfect.

but the "browser" part is a wee small and the icons and stuff at the bottom are a bit small.

I have enough screen real estate it would be nice to be able to up the UI sizing a bit.

here is a screenie.

Over 3 years later and F360 still does not work properly with Windows 10 scaling.

Indeed. This is a pain! Is it so hard to replace bitmaps with SCG icons and add selectable interface text size??

5 years later... Fusion still cannot properly scale for 4k displays.

I didn't see a Full-HD monitor for 4 years now, but, I guess, engineers like me, aren't the target audience for Autodesk products. Fusion 360 is the only software on my PC, except PuTTY, that cannot properly scale for the high-dpi screens (it should be called normal-dpi screens in 2020).

Guys, sorry for the jokes, please, fix it.

Creo has supported High DPI displays well for several years now.  Autodesk still hasn't made progress (both for Fusion360 and Eagle).  Unfortunate.

I installed Fusion360 to try it out again but I'm not dealing with the crappy graphics.  I'll check back again in a few years.
