PDF Plotted with SHX missing lines when opened in ADR

When I open a PDF Plotted using DWG-PDF in AutoCAD in ADR the drawing comes in missing a lot of information (see attached)

Would anyone have a solution to this? I have tried plotting the PDF with CutePDF in Adobe but same results.

I don't have this problem when plotting using CutePDF from AutoCAD, however some drawing are received externally.

Missing content is controlled by the tool/program creating the file, not viewing it: hard to tell what you id though since you state "... in AutoCAD in ADR ..." which makes no sense as those are two separate programs on your PC.

Most likely you have layers set to NOPLOT, nothing more.

For the sake of a missed comma what I have said is .... "When I open a PDF Plotted using DWG-PDF in AutoCAD, in ADR"

(comma now inserted!!! )

unfortunately you're reply does not fix the problem as all layers are set to plot, this only happens when using the DWG-PDF plot in AutoCAD.

Q: why are you opening PDFs in ADR? There are literally 100s of way better PDF viewers and markup tools that are not 5+years old that are constantly being updated (unlike ADR, a now dead product line)?

Open your PDF in an actual PDF-specific viewer and see if that content is still missing and what actual error messages you might get in that PDF-centric software.

And share your DWG file if you still see missing content and no error message, we all can plot to PDF without missing content all day long around here.

TIA

Could you suggest a better software for :

  • opening drawings and marking up using a symbols library
  • can be important back into Autodesk (AutoCAD & Revit)
  • allows you to view 3D Models (like Navisworks)
  • allow you to comment on 3D Models exported from Revit
  • is FREE....

TIA

The era of FREE robust business tools are gone today: you make a living using them, the developers want to make a living creating them. Unless you find a sucker trying to build a following ahead of an IPO... .

Revisit your business plan and workflows. Many 3rd party tools exist, here is one of many https://www.guthcad.com/cadviewer_markup.htm

In the meantime:
1) Use your CAD program aka free. For AutoCAD do this https://resources.imaginit.com/autocad/comments-and-markups-using-shared-views and for REVIT do this https://blog.cadpro.co.nz/building-design/revit-2021-1-shared-views/
Autodesk wishes you would buy into BIM360 to do it all instead https://help.autodesk.com/view/BIM360D/ENU/?guid=GUID-2F30CFD7-0B75-4E9B-9B4B-5CA3C643D903 and https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/BIM360D-Document-Managemen...
2) see above.
3) Free Navisworks viewers https://viewer.autodesk.com/ and https://www.autodesk.com/products/navisworks/3d-viewers
4) see above.
5) assume the fetal position now 😞
