This guide shows how you can improve facade allocation for better daylight early in the design phase for a more sustainable project.

Step 1: Run a daylight potential analysis

Click the button Daylight Potential, located above the design toolbar. To trigger a detailed daylight potential analysis, select all the buildings you would like to analyze, and press Run analysis. It will take up to a few minutes to complete, and you will be notified when the results are ready to view.

Step 2: Interpret results
The legend bar indicates the different daylight performance ranges. The darkest colors indicate the poorest daylight performance. Hover over the toolbar for an interpretation of the results. Use the Inspect tool (I) to see the Sky Component score of a selected point.

Step 3: Iterate on insights

Use the move and rotation tools to make quick and effective changes to the layout. Design a new proposal by clicking duplicate in your proposals menu and then edit.

Step 4: Compare daylight qualities between proposals

The visual compare tool can be used to assess the pros and cons of different proposals. To set up a comparison, enter the analysis history view history and select the visual compare button. This will take you to a separate window where you can select which iterations to compare.
