Stop parcels updating automatically

I find many of my colleagues avoid / hate using the parcel tools or working with parcels in general.   I believe one of the main reasons for this is there is no way to stop parcels from updating automatically.  I think parcels would be much less intimidating if it was possible to turn off automatic updates, in a similar manner to corridors.   When changes to a profile / alignment / assembly the corridor will be displayed as “out of date”.  This is useful as changes can be made without Civil 3D constantly trying to rebuild the corridor.  The option to turn off automatic updates to parcels would have a similar benefit.  I can make changes to certain boundary lines without the fear that all my parcels will be lost and requiring rebuilding / recalculation.
