Parcel Data References

I have been waiting for this feature for a very long time and I am not sure why it hasn't made it to the light of day.  It would be great if you could Data Reference parcels.  So if I am creating a plan for a specific lot I could just DREF what I need and not the entire lotting.  This would make it far easier to stylize and deal with parcels than using the current xref approach to parcels.  I know you can label an xreferenced parcel but it just seems like this isn't the best approach in all situations.

This absolutely should be a data-referenceable object. Parcels are a powerful tool, but their usefulness is limited when you cannot data-reference the object in another drawing and label it there. For the same reason we typically like to limit the amount of labeling we do in base and design drawings, we don't want to label parcels in their "design" drawing but rather in a final production drawing they have been referenced. 

Please make this change! It's been way too long!

Using parcels requires a different workflow than other Civil 3d features it would be nice if it was consistent.

That would solve the issue of losing parcel labels through an xref. Another idea back in 2016. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-ideas/parcel-data-references/idi-p/6608130. I am hoping this may gain some new support

Parcels used to be in the very early days of Civil 3D, maybe 2006 or 2007. However, there was still a lot of work needed to make C3D a usable product. Pipes were not quite ready then. It's still a problem labeling parcels as an Xref. 

A known issue lost in the escalation of support cases...

This would resolve the labeling issues.

Nice to see people are still interested in my initial post 8 years ago!  I don't get into the weeds of Civil 3D as much as I used to, but it sounds like there is not a workflow to pull out a specific parcel for stylizing and labeling it (as opposed to all parcels showing up).  I know our Autodesk friends work hard behind the scenes to make the product as helpful and great as possible, so I say this somewhat tongue-in-cheek: they put a man on the moon over 50 years ago and we still can't do this? 🙂  Just having a little fun.  

Seriously has anyone figured out a workflow for this?

Well, Civil 3D 2027 is out and you still can't Dref parcels and labeling them through a Xref's is still unstable, where you will lose the work on a consistent basis. It's been 10 years since the original post in this thread and although I have sadly lost my Pollyana hopes for this problem being addressed in some way, I still find myself disappointed such an obvious issue hasn't yet been resolved.

Autodesk, please use AI or whatever else you can to start picking through the low hanging fruit and implementing many of the great suggestions from your users.
