Enable/disable Regen

This is a new idea for AutoCAD but it happens a lot working in Civil 3D: my drawing is being regenetated a lot of times, for example if I have to select an assembly in a particular area of the model space to assign it to a corridor region.

I mean, i have to zoom IN and zoom OUT to select objects.

This is the cause why the drawing is regenerating continuosly.

Please, add a system var to show it in the OPTIONS dialog box, to enable/disable auto Regen. In fact, we could have a auto-Regen timer to call the command Regen, similar than the auto-save document timer.

I don't know if we can  lock the area in the model space to apply zoom IN and OUT.

Are you saying that REGENAUTO does not provide what you need? Interesting, I just realized that this has been marked as obsolete as far back as version 2013, although it is still available in version 2017.

Yes, it´s exactly that.

I have tried it in C3D 2017 and it works.

Maybe, it would be interesting a button in the Status bar to ON/OFF quickly.
