Xref viewing problem

Profiles of pipe runs are Xref'd into a sheet drawing. The scales of the sheet viewport as well as the model space of the xref are (and have always been) the same: 1"=30'. Notice in the attached .JPG file how numerous items in the sheet viewport are shifted drastically from how they appear in the base xref. A Regen makes them go back to looking correct (some of the time), but nonetheless plots incorrectly at unpredictable times. Nothing we have tried will fix this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Or, better yet, have a solution?

Are there other viewports in the same paper space but at a different scale? I've had with this before and ended up splitting the sheet in 2. Also, does the original file with the profile in it, was the profile view generated and styled to be viewed at 1"=30'?

The sheet file DID have other viewports at scales different than the plan and the profile viewports, as a matter of fact. I saved the sheet file as a test sheet, deleted all viewports with scales different than the profile viewports, and voila! Problem solved!

Well, not "solved", per se, but at least we know the what causes the problem. Thanks for your timely response.
