xref layer

How do I change a xref color on a drawing? In both the xref and drawing the colors are set up correct , But they still print out black.

Welcome to the Forums,

I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say it still prints black. Are you trying to print the drawing in color? The drawing and xref colors are correctly set up, so what color prints black that your not wanting to be black?

By default, when you attach an XREF to a drawing, it keeps all of the layer setups, lineweights and colors as in the original XREF file. If you want to, you can then change colors/lineweights, etc of the XREF layers in your new file in the Layer Manager dialogue box like you do for native layers in the drawing.

The output from the drawing with the XREF attachment is controlled by your color table and page setups in your plot layout dialogue box that comes up when you initiate the PLOT command. If you want color output from color features on screen, you will have to use a color table that enables that, (like "acad.ctb"). If you are using a B&W Plot Style table for pen assignments (like "monochrome.ctb"), you will always get B&W output even from color features.

Hope that helps and I wasn't missing your point.
