Where the heck is the OLE excel file

Start off with I do not like using OLE but I'm working on one because the user isn't around.

This is very messed up.

No one know where the excel file is so I open through the OLE. make about two hours of changes save save excel. Drawing table looks good. close excel. ACAD crashes before I could save >>> open and the excel table is the old OLE .... Where the heck is the EXCEL file I edited and saved?

It's possible it wasn't saved. Like editing and attachment in an email that wasn't saved out of the email. Select the OLE and in Properties  under Misc. If the Type is Linked. The file is somewhere on the network and you can open it and save it from the drawing. If the Type is Embedded. You can't.

Excel had recovery tools. See it you can find anything there.
