Has anyone had this problem?

I can see the rest of my model space outside the area of the VP. This only happens sometimes, mostly after zooming or panning. It does go away after zooming or panning again but it will come back.

A solution to this would be good as it is very frustrating and annoying.

First, it looks for all the world, (unless you've made all the colors black and turned off printable area and paper background, etc.), like you're trying to put your title block into model space. Is this the case? If so, your "viewport" isn't really a viewport, as I understand it. Your viewport will show you modelspace in a paperspace tab.

...But rereading your post, I don't think that's what you're doing. I do know a quirk that may help: If you leave the layer with your viewport on, (perhaps on a non-plottable layer), you can have any shape viewport you want. But if you freeze the viewport layer it forgets the defined boundaries and reverts to (I think) a bounding box around the extents of the viewport. Could it be something related to this?

No that is not the case, I have turnied off my printable area as thats how i prefer it to look.

What you see is most deffinatly in paper space.

Apologies...I suspect I was editing my former post and adding the second paragraph when you were writing.

Is that whiter rectangle the viewport? Are you sure it is the viewport? Is it locked?

I am 100% positive it is a viewport, i am no stranger to this, and yes it is locked

also freezing the layer that the VP is on makes no difference, still happens

That would be annoying.

I dunno.

This is the closest answer I could find:
